Atlantic City Half Marathon

What a whirlwind week it's been! I ran a half marathon last Sunday and then hopped in the care Monday and drove back to West Virginia. I feel like I haven't stopped since I got out of the car Monday evening. Get ready for photo overload from the race. It was Stephen's first half marathon so I wanted to make sure it was documented well and took lots of pictures. After breakfast at our favorite diner in Westfield, we hopped in the car and set off for Atlantic City where our weekend was. We drove straight to the convention center where the expo was to pick up our race bibs and packets. We were pumped to get our bibs. One step closer to the race! I'd never used the Normatec leg recovery system so when they had a free demo, I quickly jumped in the chair and let the compression take over. Looking over the course map to get a little bit of a bearing of where we'd be running the next day. Not only is the distance of the race 13.1 miles, my lucky number is 13 so I'll ta

Friday Favorites: Running Edition

Happy Friday!! The weekend is almost here, we just have to make it through the day. This weekend is a big weekend over here, not only am I running a half marathon, but my boyfriend Stephen is running his first half marathon! I'm linking up with Erika and Andrea to share my Friday Favorites and in honor of the upcoming race, this post is dedicated to my favorite running things! I've only had these shorts a couple of weeks but they have quickly become a favorite of mine. So much so that after I wore them the first time, I went out and got them in another color. All my running shorts have to have a pocket so I can store my keys but these have TWO pockets!! The pockets are large enough that I can fit my phone into it so I don't have to worry about wearing my arm band. The price on these is great and they're from Old Navy so there's almost always a sale going on! For size reference, I had to go up a size. When I was training for my first marathon, I had the worst bli

Wendy's Eggcellent Breakfast

My friend posted a picture of this breakfast on Instagram a couple of months ago and it looked DELICIOUS! I knew I had to recreate it and try it for myself. Ingredients: 1 Hash brown patty 1 Egg 1/2 Acocado 1 tablespoon Crunchy Chili Onion (found at Trader Joe's) Pinch of salt and pepper Directions: I cook my hash brown in the air fryer but you can cook it however you'd like. Set air fryer to 425 degrees and put in hash brown for 10 minutes flipping halfway through Crack egg in skillet and season with salt and pepper (I like mine over easy) Once egg is cooked to your liking, put on top of hash brown Slice half an avocado and put on top of egg Top off with 1 tablespoon of Crunchy Chili Onion Enjoy!

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Monday, friends! I'm still in shock that it's May already and that another weekend has come and gone. I hope you had a great weekend and were able to relax and take some time to relax. And a Happy belated mother's day to all of the moms out there, especially mine! Here's a look at my weekend: For the last two years, I've been working on my Masters in the Art of Teaching with a focus in Elementary Education. I've been doing observations and student teaching in a first grade classroom since September and Friday was my last day with my students. My kids got me this as a goodbye gift and I absolutely love it! I'll miss my students so much. I've cried for them. I've fought for them. I've comforted them. I've taught them. But also, they've taught me. They've left a mark on me and will always hold a special place in my heart. I will be eternally grateful to them for helping to shape me into the teacher I've become. Bright and ear

My Latest Adventure

Hi there! I'm Angela and welcome to my latest adventure! I've been wanting to start a blog for awhile now and finally decided to take the plunge. I have a background in journalism but recently did a career change and I'm getting my Masters in teaching. As much as I love teaching, I really miss writing so I decided it's time. Time for me to get back to writing. Time for me to step out of my comfort zone and share my life with you. While I'm an open book in person, I don't share a ton online, but that's all about to change! I was born and raised in Huntington, WV but thanks to a series of unexpected events, I'm now living in Westfield, NJ -- about 35 minutes from New York City. I love the life I've created up here, but I miss home, my friends and family like crazy. Along with getting my Masters in teaching -- and hopefully a teaching job! -- I opened my own travel agency last year, Daydream Destinations . I'd love to help you plan your dream vaca
