Friday Favorites [8.5.22]

It's Friday again and I'm linking up with Andrea and Erika for some more Friday Favorites!
Remember how last week in my book review I said that I read The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy in about three days? I followed it up by watching the series on Amazon Prime and it is definitely a favorite. The show is so sweet and seven episodes was not nearly enough for me! I'm really hoping for a second season and it can't come soon enough!
This Nashville-Style Hot salad is DELICIOUS! It's the Target brand good & gather and it's my absolute favorite. It has cornbread croutons and dill flavored dried cucumbers...I'm getting hungry just describing it. Plus it has the tastiest spicy ranch dressing that really makes the salad. When I buy these, I always pick up two because I love them that much.
My Cricut has been a lifesaver over the last couple of weeks. Last week I had Covid and was going stir crazy being stuck in my house. Enter my Cricut. I made SO. MANY. stickers and I'm not ashamed. I've used my Cricut for a lot of things from travel agency items to things for school, but it really proved its worth last week.
Speaking of things that got me through Covid, I watched a TON of Disney+. I've made it my goal to watch all of the Marvel movies in order so I was able to check several of those off my list. It wasn't just superhero movies that I binged, I watched a ton of princess movies, too.
I know Words with Friends has been around for more than a decade -- and I've been playing it pretty much since the beginning -- but I still look forward to playing it every day. I only play with my cousin, uncle and Stephen but we have some pretty competitive streaks going on. Maybe it's the journalist in me, but I LOVE word games.

That's it for this week's round-up of favorites. I'll see you back here next week! Have a great weekend!

  1. I'm really into these salad mixes! Have you tried Taylor Farms Watermelon Crunch? Dill pickle? I add some grilled chicken and these are great. Thanks for the rec and I will look at Target!

    1. Thanks for the suggestion! I've never tried the watermelon crunch one, but it sounds right up my alley, I'll be on the lookout for it! I'm not a fan of pickles so I was worried about how dill pickle cucumbers would be, but they're surprisingly good. I haven't thought of adding grilled chicken! :)

  2. I really enjoyed The Summer... Pretty too and ended up watching season 1 of the Lake on Prime when it was over since it recommended it to me.

  3. I didn't realize Words with Friends was still around! I remember when that was The Thing! I have two English degrees, but I am terrible at word games, so I abandoned Words with Friends long ago, haha!

Honeymoon Adventures: Setting Sail and Gibraltar

17 Days. 10 Countries. 1200+ Pictures. 2 Cruises. Infinite laughs and memories. Stephen and I are officially back from our incredible honeymoon and adjusting back to reality. Settle in and get ready to experience our trip of a lifetime. All we saw in Switzerland was the airport but considering our passport was stamped there, we're counting it as one of our countries. After arriving in Barcelona, we stopped off in our hotel room to drop things off before grabbing an early dinner and calling it a night after a LONG day of travel. This restaurant isn't open yet, but it's already Stephen's favorite. It's hard to see in the pictures, but those are cemeteries and mausoleums built into the hillside.  Here we are getting ready to board our ship, the Enchanted Princess (all my Taylor Swift fans, IYKYK! I also walked down the aisle to that song!)  Look at my handsome HUSBAND all ready for his first cruise! The ship was gorgeous and we immediately set out exploring. The prome

July Book Review

I thought June was a good month for books, but somehow July was even better! This month saw seven books including a memoir, a YA series, some historical fiction, a beach read and suspense novel. Grab a glass of iced tea and open up your Goodreads account so you can add some of these books to your TBR list! My first read of the month was Over the Top  by Jonathan Van Ness from Queer Eye.  I was at the library looking for a different book when I saw this one and picked it up on a whim. I love the show and listened to Tan France's audiobook last year so I was excited to learn more about JVN and get some inside scoop on the show. That being said, I wasn't that impressed with the book. It mostly talks about his wild days and I do appreciate his vulnerability speaking out about mental health issues and how left untreated, it wasn't healthy -- or safe. I think I just went into the book with different expectations but that being said, I'm glad I read it. Next up was Not a Happ
